But I not only admire the moons beauty, I love it because it is the single most incredible creation that displays the glory of another without stealing the spotlight. The moon has no selfish ambition about it. It is secure in its purpose and mission that is to reflect the light of the sun at night. It takes no offense to the fact that without the sun, the moon would be useless. It is honored by the light and does not attempt to exalt itself above the other planets or try to formulate it’s own light so it can get all the credit. No. The moon is perfectly ok with reflecting the glory of another and staying positioned right where God placed it. The moon is beautiful because it is calm and content in its designed purpose. It does not boast of it’s own glory, but gives all the honor and praise to the sun. It does not mistake the light beam of the sun as an opportunity to steal the show or a time to make it’s own name known. The moon knows and is perfectly well established in the understanding that its only purpose is to reflect the glory of another. Yes, the moon is breathtaking. It is awe-inspiring. It is powerful. It is moving. But it is, only because of the Sun.
Dear moon- show me your majestic ways of giving Him glory. May I model your heart of reflection, may I mirror your faithful commitment to shine, and may I also be found like a jewel in the heavens declaring the beauty of Him, the Light.

i love this.
