Reluctance vs. obedience

Can you imagine what would have happened if Queen Esther had not accepted the invitation to the king's palace because she was in love with someone else?

Or what if she went to the kings palace reluctantly and daydreamed about the man she was in love with? What if she didn't show any enthusiasm, passion or desire to be at the palace? What if she cried every night because she missed her boyfriend back at home?

Would she have been shown favor? Would the king have even noticed her? Would she have been crowned queen? Would she have been positioned in the kingdom for such a time as when the jews were in danger of genocide? Would she have fulfilled the call?

Can you imagine if this was her response?
When she was first summoned to the palace, Esther didn't know that the King was going to crown her to be queen. But she obeyed God and went to the kingdom embracing where He had positioned her. It is very possible that Esther could have had a significant other before she went to the palace. But regardless, she surrendered her plans and agenda to God so that His glory could work it's way in her life.

When God summons us, He doesn't give us all the answers as to why. We simply must respond with obedience and embrace where He positions us. Don't hold onto your hopes and dreams of what you think is a good future. For I surely know, our definition of good is nothing close to heavens reality.

"Commit your ways to the Lord, trust in him and he will bring it to pass."-Psalm 37:5
